Beginning today, children in grades 3 to 6 are invited to enter a decorated pumpkin into the library's Literary Pumpkin Patch for a chance to win a family four-pack of tickets to McCann's Farm in Monroeville! Each ticketholder will receive a free wagon ride to the Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze experience.

To participate in the contest, decorate a pumpkin based on a book or literary character using paint or markers or any other type of embellishments you like. Book examples could be Judy Moody or Captain Underpants. Sorry, carved pumpkins will not be accepted.

Contest timeline is as follows:

October 1-10: Pick out a pumpkin from the patch.

October 17: Reutrn your decorated pumpkin for contest entry.

October 19-22: Patrons will vote for their favorite.

October 23: Winner will be announced.
